We are often asked by supporters how they can send gifts to the children in Salaam Baalak homes in Delhi, especially at this time of year. We’re touched by the willingness to give but well-intended toys, clothes and books aren’t necessarily the best way to help – logistically, financially or environmentally.
At Friends of Salaam Baalak Trust, we’re making it easier for you to show your support with our Christmas 2019 Fundraising Appeal; donate the cost of a present and send a message of hope. Your donation will be used to fund nourishing food, healthcare and education for all the children who stay in Salaam Balaak centres year-round, and you can send your own message to the children. The FofSBT team will collate the messages and send them to Delhi, where they will be shared with the children in time for Christmas. When many of the children we know at home are preparing for an abundance of presents and toys, by giving this extra gift you will really make a difference to children who have so little.
